Born in Wolfsburg rather than the USA, but the GTI appears to have been transported to the New World.  Here, the car is dwarfed by the epic Rockingham grandstand and American style scoring tower.  Heavy cloud cover and July sunshine combine to send the humidity level soaring.  It looks like the deep South and in this weather it feels like the deep South - but in the diner I search in vain for fried green tomatoes and corn bread.  Just what is a good ol' boy to do?
